Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry has a new president following the departure of former leader Andrea Hansen, the company announced this week.
Geoffrey N. Hess, an attorney and founding member of Giuliani Partners, a consulting firm headed by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, is the new president. Previously, Hess was a senior advisor to Giuliani during his administration and was an associate at Tishman Speyer Properties.
“The company’s extensive growth required the new corporate structure that we have implemented,” company co-founder Ivanka Trump said. “Geoff is the right leader to manage the rapid expansion and demands of our growing and global business. We are thrilled to have him on board. Andrea played a vital role in building the business we have today, and we wish her the best of luck in the future.”
In an email distributed to members of the trade, Hansen, the company’s first president who was appointed in July 2009, said she was resigning her post in order to spend more time with her family.
“I am extremely proud of the business we have created together and most of all of the relationships we have built,” she wrote. “A great transition plan is in place to ensure continuity of the business.”
Trump’s foray into fine jewelry started with the opening of a single shop on Madison Avenue in New York in 2007. Eventually, the company began selling its jewelry wholesale via retail doors and at new boutiques opening worldwide.
Today, the brand is sold in almost 100 independent retail stores in the United States and at major retailers such as Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. The brand also has a strong presence in the Middle East and Asia, with a new flagship boutique slated to open in Beijing this fall.
